Woman Airlifted to Hospital after Jefferson City Vehicle Pursuit

The driver of a stolen vehicle who tried to flee from Jefferson City police is in serious condition.

A witness reported Monday afternoon that a car had rammed into them near Missouri Boulevard around 4:30.

When police found the car, and realized it was stolen, they tried to pull it over but it sped away.

Police said they chased it to the intersection of Meadows Ford and Route C west of the city but the driver crashed into a rock embankment.

She was airlifted to the hospital in serious condition and a passenger was also hurt. He was released from the hospital and arrested. Both face theft, assault and resisting arrest charges.
