(Update: 10:00am) – A suspect has been charged with murder in the deaths of two people at a Lake of the Ozarks campground.
The Miller County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has confirmed 58 year old Gary Sweet of Rolla has been charged with murder related to the homicide investigation. Prosecuting Attorney Benjamin Winfrey wrote in a social media post Sweet was charged Tuesday with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and four counts of armed criminal action charges.
Winfrey says Sweet faces charges with the murder for “knowingly causing the death” and “deliberation” by shooting two Lake Ozarks residents at Riverview RV Park and Campground.
(Original story) – A man is in custody after two people are shot and killed at a Lake Ozark campground.
Lake Ozark Police shared a post on its Facebook page confirming Gary Sweet of Rolla was arrested Wednesday night on two counts of first degree murder.
Sweet, 58, is accused of shooting two people at the Riverview RV Campground early Wednesday. That’s near the Osage River and Highway 54.
We do not know the names of the victims yet.
