Steve is originally from rural northeast Missouri, and has worked in radio in central Missouri since 1992. His first experience behind the controls at a radio station was in 1990 as a “volunteer” at WGCA, the non-commercial Contemporary Christian station in Quincy, IL.
During the last 20 years, Steve has worked at a number of stations in the region, including KJMO in Jefferson City, KWWR/KXEO in Mexico and 94.3 KAT Country in Jefferson City. He joined 101.9 The Wave in July of 2006, nearly 3 months before the station signed on the air. He had the unique opportunity to actually help start a radio station from the ground up.
Steve enjoys all types of music, from classic country to rock. Memorable concerts include Clint Black opening for Alabama at the Muny in St. Louis way back in 1990, and nearly going deaf at a .38 Special concert at the Belle Fair in 2000 (it’s what I get for standing too close to the speakers).
