Sam Smith has released the official music video to his new single, “Too Good at Goodbyes.” Opening with a shot of Smith singing in a recording studio, the heart-wrenching clip mirrors the emotional track with images of different couples captured in intimate moments.
The Luke Monaghan-directed video follows the couples as they deal with the sadness of their relationships coming to an end in a variety of settings, including Smith and an unseen paramour.
It ends with a long shot of the singer pensively overlooking a city.
“Too Good At Goodbyes” is the first new music from Smith since the release of his Oscar and Golden Globe-winning “Writing’s On The Wall,” the James Bond theme song for Spectre.
The track marks the first sample of his upcoming second LP, which follows his multi-platinum 2014 debut, In the Lonely Hour.
While Smith didn’t reveal the album’s release date, he explained that it will be out before Christmas. He has also teased that the LP will include collaboration with Timbaland and a duet.
