Firearms Deer Season Starts Saturday

Kiss the outdoors men and women in your family goodbye for 11 days. Firearms deer season starts Saturday in Missouri, and goes until Nov. 21.

“The season outlook looks really really good,” Missouri Department of Conservation agent Tom Strother says. “I’ve been out quite a bit patrolling, and actually hunting some myself, and I see deer almost every day that I go out.”

Strother says you will be required to submit any deer you kill in 25 Missouri counties for mandatory sampling. Officials are keeping an eye out for chronic wasting disease in counties like Cole, Moniteau, and Macon. Get more info about that here.
