Charlie Puth and Andra Day will headline the first concerts in a series of shows this summer.The concerts are hosted by Global Citizen and Cadillac supporting social entrepreneurs bringing positive change to the world.
The Accelerator Series concerts will be held at the Cadillac House in New York City, kicking off August 29th with Puth and followed by Day on September 19th. A special third concert on September 21st will be announced later this month.
Admission to the free-ticketed series can be earned by engaging with Global Citizen to take action on some of the world’s biggest social issues.
At each event, guest-of-honor social entrepreneurs will receive the inaugural Global Citizen Accelerator Award with a $10,000 grant in order to continue their work. They are David Auerbach, founder of Sanergy, a startup that builds healthy communities through sustainable sanitation and job creation in Kenyan slums; Elise Kendall, CEO of Kinosol, a small-scale, solar-powered food dehydrator that is reducing food waste, increasing nutrient availability and improving the livelihoods of subsistence farmers around the world; and John Nesbit, co-founder of Medic Mobile, which provides frontline health workers mobile technology to reach patients in rural areas.
